- The following topics - not exhaustively here - will be dealt with in the course of the smartphone workshop:

- Image composition: Select good image sections, skillfully put the motif in the limelight. - Manually position the focus field: Square frame in the camera display. The application of the “golden ratio” or the rule of thirds helps with positioning, also with smartphone photography.

- Add a permanent auxiliary grid to your camera app for your first snapshots. In this way you gradually get a feeling for a successful picture division.

- Criteria for the sharpness of a photo: An image area is perceived as sharp when its contours clearly separate it from its surroundings. - Correct exposure manually: As with the focus area, the exposure area can also be individually adjusted on the smartphone.

- Fix focus area with AF / AE lock.

- Image composition: what's the difference between a snapshot and a good shot? What is the attraction of the picture, which elements of the environment belong to the picture, which section of the picture best accentuates the motif

- Image structure in the grid
- Avoid overlapping
- Fixed focal length with sneaker zoom
- Critically evaluate and sort recordings
- Do not let the photo club evangelists banish you to the area of "compliance with the rules".
- Give creativity scope.

It would be helpful if you could bring a tablet (my own is included anyway). It doesn't always have to be Photoshop and I have very good image editing programs as freeware applications which could then be helpful for us.

1.) Städel Museum
Course course: From points of view such as the Holbeinsteg but also from the point of view of the opposite bank of the Main, including the extension building and the Städel garden. 2.) Museum of Applied Arts
The museum was designed by the American architect Richard Meier. This is one of the architect's first museum buildings and his first project in Germany.

3.) Goethe House / Goethe's birthplace
Johann Wolfgang Goethe was born here on the Großer Hirschgraben in Frankfurt in 1749. His parents' house at that time consisted of two narrow, interconnected half-timbered houses that were acquired by grandmother Cornelia Goethe in 1733 as a widow's residence. The furnishings and furnishings of the kitchen, living room and representative rooms correspond to the bourgeois living culture of the late baroque. The IG Farben House or the Poelzig Building in Frankfurt am Main was designed by Hans Poelzig and built as the central administration for IG Farben from 1928 to 1931. Bad Soden in the Taunus

The Taunusort Bad Soden is known for salt and hot springs and an international health resort with a historic old town and extensive spa gardens. In this workshop, knowledge of shooting techniques and elements of image design that are important for architectural photography are imparted. A photo series is to be created in which the old town of Bad Soden, its facades and streets, as well as the spa gardens and the Hundertwasserhaus will come into their own.
In this course you will learn how to deal with lighting conditions correctly, the importance of choosing a good location and capturing interesting shapes and details. An introduction to image design will be part of the course and you will have the opportunity to practice:
- Which view of a building is particularly suitable for successful photos?
- What do I have to pay attention to when casting shadows, backlighting, weather, etc.?
- What effect can architectural photos achieve: documentary or artistic, calm or dynamic?
